Recognizing that the geosciences have been and remain among the least diverse of all STEM fields, we especially encourage applications from students of underrepresented backgrounds, including graduates of HBCUs, tribal colleges, and other minority-serving institutions.
Prospective graduate students
There are several routes to pursuing your Ph.D. research in molecular biogeochemistry at the University of Chicago. If you are interested in joining the lab and are unsure about which program is best for you, please contact Jake by email.
Prospective postdocs should contact Jake by email with a CV and description of research interests. We are especially interested in candidates with a strong background in proteomics, biogeochemistry, organic geochemistry, and aquatic/marine/terrestrial microbiology.
There may be opportunities for highly motivated undergraduates to get involved in our research. Students majoring in Geosci, Environmenal Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Science are especially encouraged to apply. To inquire about current opportunities, please send Jake a CV/resume and description of your interests and prior experience.
